Happy holidays and a happy New Year from the ICM Head Office Team
Since this time last year, our small team has grown into a bigger small team of passionate individuals from around the world, each uniquely equipped to strengthen our global midwife community. As 2021 comes to end, we reflect on this growth and the positive impact it's had on ICM's ability to better provide knowledge, resources, and support to the midwifery profession.
Next year, we will celebrate the 100th anniversary of ICM — a milestone that will bring with it the opportunity to critically examine our role as the only organisation specifically focused on supporting associations of midwives and their midwife members around the world. Through the narrative of our anniversary, we will also reflect on the next 100 years and what our world could look like for women, midwives and all people if midwives received the enabling environment they deserve and require. To this end, we look forward to rolling out a host of resources and support mechanisms that directly link the skills of the Head Office team to our midwives' associations and their members.
For an exploration of the past 12 months and a hint at what's next, we encourage our community to look out for the publication of the ICM, UNFPA e-magazine - A Moment for Midwives - coming to an inbox near you before the end of this week.
The achievements of this past year and our ambitious goals for 2022 would not possible without the continued support of our funders and partners. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank the organisations and individuals who value and believe in a world where every childbearing woman has access to a midwife's care for herself and her newborn.
We wish you a happy and safe holiday season.
Sincerely,
The ICM Head Office family.
Please note: This month, the ICM office will be closed from 23 December to 03 January to allow our team to enjoy their respective holidays and celebrations. We wish our global community a safe and happy end of the year. We’ll see you all again in 2022!
